Sean P. Colgan, PhD
Prof. Colgan received his PhD in experimental pathology from Colorado State University. He is currently is the Joel Levine-Fred Kern, Jr. Professor of Medicine and Immunology at the University of Colorado and Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine. Previously, between 1994 and 2006, he was on faculty at Harvard Medical School where he was Professor and Associate Director of the Center for Experimental Therapeutics. Dr. Colgan heads a medical research laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health that is dedicated to the identification of novel anti-inflammatory molecules. He has published over 200 papers and book chapters, served as an Associate Editor for a number of journals and acted in a number of peer-review roles for the National Institutes of Health. He is the previous chairman of multiple study sections for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation as well as other foundations in America, Europe and Canada.
